paeroa to thames 58km

after a bit of a cold night (with ice on the tent) I pack up and head down the road to Thames passing through some small town's that was only a few km apart doing a side trip to the long kopu bridge where they are building a new 2 lane bridge with a walkway/cycle way on it (as I was going across to old bridge  I had to stop in the disused passing bays (the bridge  has traffic lights on it now)as even doing 20 km/h I only could get 1/2 way before the lights changed). Getting into Thames I have a look around town for a few hours  (having a good look around the Thames museum )before heading down the road to the  Kauaeranga Valley to do some bushwalking for a few days
