Turangi to near national park
Getting on the road somewhat later then planed I head a few km out of town before turning onto S.H. 47 and starting up a long and somewhat steep hill - part of the way up the hill there's a look out over the lake so I stop there for lunch and photos before heading up the rest of the hill. Heading down the other side of the hill i pass the car park for a bush walk around a small lake ( it's a nice walk that I have done a few times over the year) at the end of the down hill there is a large lake which is part of the power scheme ( there is a tunnel though the large hill that I just climbed over leading to the large penstocks of a power station that can be seen heading down the turangi side of the hill.
The Road pass's a road the links up with S.H.1 ( and can be used to go around the large hill for riders who don't like hills : ) also on this road is the road that turns off that leads to the ski fields a few km from the town of nz there's a doc camp site so I decide to stop there for the night
