cross creak to maymorn

cross creak to maymorn
getting on the trail around 10 am i start climbing up the gravel track of the incline - yes it is an old rail way trail but at 1/15 its steep (they used fell engurs to climb and descend the 5 ? km of incline using a 3t h rail for grip on the steep climb/decent of the incline ) at times the trail pass's though tunnels - just before one of the tunnels is Siberia washout where the trail drops down to the stream then back up to the old rail way - it was near here that one of the trains was blown off the rails in high winds (1880?summit). around lunch time i get to the summint yards - the fell engers worked the featherston side of the hill with other trains worked the (less steep) wellington side. from the snmmit yards the trail heads down hill. its a fun ride with me getting up to 30 km/h at times. stoping a few times to get photos of me riding (using my little try pod to hold the camera ). near the end of the trail there is a few ant-moterbike things to narrow to get the bike though with out taking the panner bags off so i just fold the Handel bars and seat mast to fit the bike under. taking the tunnel gully trail to Maymorn - the trail has new signs so not so much guess work this time : ) at maymorn i head along the road flowing the new trail signs on the hut river trail - some parts of this trail is narrow so riders with 2 wheel trailers may want to take the road to bypass the first parts of the hut river trail. near hardcourd park (where there is a camp ground ) the trail becomes more wider. riding into upper hut i decide to head into the library for a few hours to read a few books and charge up my phone - around 5 pm i get hold of a friend so head up a big hill(well some what of a steep hill any way ) so i don't have to head up the busy S.H.2 back up to maymorn to my frieds place for the next 2 nights
