pelorus bridge to some where
leaving pelorus bridge doc camp ground the road crosses the river and heads though farm land. stoping at rar? villes? for a drink and some food. leaving the small town the road starts to climb - the first hill is not to bad with the low gears I have on the bike. heading down the other side of the hill the road pass's though some pine trees with a few rest areas along the way.heading up the 2nd big hill of the day part of the way up I pass the 2 bike touring riders that I say at the camp ground last night so chatted with then for a bit as we climb up the hill. stoping at the top for a 5 min break before enjoying to nice down hill at one point having to slow down for a van - at times I can ride down a hill faster safely then some one in a car can drive down the hill : ) stoping at a small shop for an ice cream the two riders on touring bikes also stop for a bit before riding just down the road for a lunch break so I stop to chat to then for a bit then back on the road heading over one last hill then along the sea for a bit and on to a cycle way into nelson where I head for the info center to get an update on the great taste cycle trail and find out where the start of the trail is before heading for the library for a few hours then to the supermarket for some food for the next few days . seeing some signs for the gt trail I decide to ride the trail to see whats its like to ride - the trail runs along where the old rail way used to go in places then along the coast on an off road bike/walking trail then the trail runs a new part of track though a few farms and some back roads before crossing the river on a cycle/ walking bridge - the weather is off and on showers . just before dark I find some where to stay before setting up camp for the night
